Young Scientist Awards
Thanks to our Sponsors, we are happy to offer Young Scientist Awards for best presentations.
Who can apply?
Eligible are current BSc, MSc and PhD Students up to 30 years old, as well as PostDocs up to 35 years old (evidence of status and age is required) who register for the Symposium with an abstract for an oral or a poster presentation.
What is the deadline for applications?
Same as the Late Registration deadline, i.e. the 22nd of May 2022.
How to apply?
If you wish to be considered for the Award you must indicate this while registering for the Symposium in the REGISTRATION PLATFORM.
How many awards will be granted?
We are planning to grant a total of four awards: one for the best oral presentation and one for the best poster, each in two main fields: Zoology (Biodiversity, Taxonomy, Biogeography, Phylogeny, Evolution, Ecology, Life Histories, Behaviour, Morphology, Anatomy, Reproduction & Development) and Physiology (Physiology, Omics, Cryptobiosis & Astrobiology).
How will the ranking list be constructed?
Candidates will be evaluated by an ad hoc panel of senior scientists appointed by the Symposium Chair. The ranking list will be based on the originality and quality of the presented work, talk structure/poster design, aesthetics, as well as on the communicative skills of the presenter and the ability to answer questions.
